Class Descriptions

We offer classes for all ages and all experience levels. Check out the descirptions below to find out which is right for you!

Teen & Adult Hula Basics

New & Returning
Ages: 13 & up

Basic hula steps and hand movements are taught to develop coordination as well as confidence. Dance technique and protocol will be stressed in addition to the integration of Hawaiian values. This class is the first step to joining our Hālau.

Younger Kids Hula - Level 1

New & Returning
Ages: 4-7

Our younger kids class level 1 class is perfect for your young child that's ready to start a new fun, engaging activity. Your kids will have a great time learning the basics of hula from our experienced instructors.

Kids Hula - Level 2

New & Returning
Ages: 7-12

The kids beginner level 2 class is great for kids looking to add another activity to their schedule. Our experienced instructors will teach your kids not only the basics of hula, but also proper etiquitte of an authentic hālau (hula school).

Kids Advanced

Invitation Only
Ages: 7-12

Our instructors may invite your kids into our advanced class. If invited, this class will be much more challenging and rewarding.

Adult & Older Adult Hula

New & Returning
Ages: 35 & up

Looking for something new? Need a class to help you get moving more? Curious what Hula is all about? This slow paced class is perfect for new and returning students.

Hālau Hula

Returning
Ages: 12 & up

This makua (adult) class is for all returning students that have enrolled in our Hula Basics class. Students will learn songs choreographed by our Kumu. Basic ‘olelo (language) related to nā mele (songs) will be shared.

Adult Advanced

Invitation Only
Ages: 12 & Up

This class is by invitation from our instructors only. This class will be physically challenging and requires a commitment from students to train to be a professional dancer and to be available for public performances. Students must be enrolled in Adult Hula to be in this class. Independent study of ‘olelo (language), mele (song) and mo’olelo (history) will be required. This class will train students in all Polynesian dance forms.
