Adult Hula FUNdamentals

New & Returning Students
Ages: 13 & up

This welcoming, open-level class is perfect for adults beginning their hula journey or continuing dancers who want to strengthen their foundation. Learn basic hula steps, rhythm, posture, and choreography in a supportive and joyful environment. Whether you are brand new or returning to hula, this class offers connection, movement, and aloha spirit. Optional holiday recital on December 7 and optional end-of-year recital in June. Open to all levels.

Kids Hula FUNdamentals

New & Returning Students
Ages: 5-13

Join us for a fun and engaging foundational kids’ hula class! Beginning students will learn basic steps, rhythm, hula vocabulary, and choreography in a supportive, joyful environment. More experienced dancers can refine their technique and deepen their skills. We’ll also explore other Polynesian dance styles and build a sense of community through shared movement and cultural learning. Optional holiday recital on December 7 and optional end-of-year recital in June. Open to all levels.

Kids Advanced Hula

Invitation Only
Ages: 7-13

Designed for experienced and committed young dancers, this class focuses on advancing hula technique, refining performance skills, and developing chant (oli) abilities. Dancers will work on more complex choreography and prepare for potential performances. Participation in the fall workshops with Kumu, the holiday recital on December 7 and the end-of-year recital in June is expected.

Adult & Older Adult Hula

New & Returning Students
Ages: 35 & up

A gentle-paced, joyful class for adults and kūpuna (elders) focusing on movement, wellness, and cultural connection. Enjoy learning hula in a supportive, low-pressure environment that celebrates community and aloha. Whether you're new to hula or returning, this class offers a welcoming space to move, connect, and grow. Optional holiday recital on December 7 and optional end-of-year recital in June. Open to all levels.

Hālau Hula

Returning Students
Ages: 12 & up

A traditional halau-style class designed for committed students. The curriculum includes hula protocol, oli (chant), and both hula kahiko (ancient) and ‘auana (modern) styles. We will also explore other Polynesian dance traditions to highlight the cultural connections across the islands. Preparing for performances is also a part of this class, with opportunities to perform at a variety of community events throughout the year. Participation in the fall workshops with Kumu, the holiday recital on December 7 and the end-of-year recital in June is expected.

Advanced Hula

Invitation Only
Ages: 12 & Up

This class is designed for advanced students who are serious about deepening their hula practice. Dancers will be physically challenged as they refine technique, master complex choreography, and engage in deeper cultural learning. Outside study of chants and dances may be required, as some students in this class are training to become professional-level performers. Concurrent enrollment in Halau Hula class is required to ensure a well-rounded experience in both technique and traditional halau protocols. Participation in the fall workshops with Kumu, the holiday recital on December 7 and the end-of-year recital in June is expected.
